Wassily Kandinsky, Composition 9

Wassily Kandinsky, Composition 9

Created by the widely celebrated Russian abstract artist, Wassily Kandinsky, "Composition 9" is a riveting display of expressionist innovation. Embracing non-objective abstraction as a drawing technique, this work transcends conventional norms and depicts something far more spiritual.
The subject of the artwork cannot be confined to physical interpretation but dwells in emotional resonance and sensory perceptions evoked through bold colors. Dominated by powerful hues of red, blue and yellow swirled together with softer pastels against a light background signify an organized chaos that tempts viewers into self-reflection.
Kandinsky preferred using oil paints for their rich texture and vibrant color retention which he abundantly employed in Composition 9 as well. The structure can be seen emerging from spontaneous lines streaked across the canvas; an exploration signifying his quest towards uncharted artistic territories.
Beyond its aesthetic appeal lies deep rooted symbolism waiting to be unveiled upon careful examination. While not explicitly stated by Kandinky himself it's broadly accepted that his compositions express deep-rooted emotions rather than concrete realities serving as an invitation for contemplative introspection among viewers.
