Ukiyo-e: The Art of the Floating World

Ukiyo-e, meaning “pictures of the floating world,” is a genre of Japanese woodblock printing that flourished from the 17th to the 19th centuries, particularly during the Edo period. This art movement captured the transient nature of life and the beauty of the world, reflecting the pleasures, luxuries, and often the fleeting moments of everyday life.
