Irem Satılmış / Id / Oil on canvas / 2022 / 90x90cm
Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, states in his personality theory that the human mind is made up of three interacting layers known as id, ego, and superego. According to Freud, the id is the most basic, innate component of personality and is completely unconscious, containing instinctual and primitive behaviors. "The id is our instinctual and unstoppable side and our primitive self.."
This painting, in which dynamic colors are combined with geometric forms, is a modern style oil painting that symbolically depicts consciousness at its core.
