Community People, Aysegul Ozkale
oil painting on canvas,
Who are we? A pawn in the name of the individual? Or are we just a handful of people trying to find themselves under the pressure of society in order to be yourself?
Allegation; It is told how the person who lives the life of others cannot find himself, how he can live the whole life that others impose on him, how the self that emerges throughout the person's life is shaped and how he takes place in society. false self. Individuals are unaware of their false selves in their childhood and live completely with their real selves, but they pass through the door of another dimension in their steps towards adulthood. This door opens a different self-process for them. Children now begin to form and meet their false selves. Individuals act as pawns under the guidance of others until their adulthood. What matters in a chess match at this time of our lives is not winning or losing, but how you shape yourself. At every stage of our lives, many people add more to themselves and their false selves. In this way, the false selves of individuals always change and develop according to the society. While people think they are moving forward with their false selves, they are actually at a dead end. Few of these people realize that when they embark on this journey with their false selves, they are actually a reflection of society, not themselves. But they have become accustomed to living with this false self. They cannot show their true selves to anyone and they only hold a mirror to the person in front of them. These people, who realize their real selves, are afraid to reveal their real selves in the face of the thoughts and impositions of the society, and they mask their feelings and thoughts. They think of it as a society and continue to live with this false self they have created. But no matter how the individual gets used to this false self, his real self always continues to live within him.
