Modernlik, ak\u0131l ve bilim \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda \u00f6ncelikle do\u011fay\u0131 sonra toplu\u00admu (insan\u0131) \u2018nesne\u2019le\u015ftirerek tan\u0131mlama ve s\u0131n\u0131fland\u0131rma giri\u015fimi\u00addir. Bu anlamda modernlik bir d\u00fczenlemedir. D\u00fczenleme: Bir tasnif etme \u015fekli ve bilimsel, rasyonel dolay\u0131s\u0131yla \u00f6ncelikle epistemolojik bir faaliyettir. D\u00fczenlemenin as\u0131l amac\u0131, belirlenen ve s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131 \u00e7izi\u00adlen alan\u0131, yap\u0131y\u0131 veya konuyu istenen \u015fekilde tutma arzusudur. Herhangi bir \u015feyi tan\u0131mlamak i\u00e7in ayn\u0131 ba\u011flamda bir \u015feyleri d\u0131\u015far\u0131da b\u0131rakarak tan\u0131mlaman\u0131n yap\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131n\u0131 (o \u015feyle do\u011frudan ilgili veya de\u011fil)d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcrsek, d\u0131\u015fa\u00adr\u0131da kalanlar\u0131n\/b\u0131rak\u0131lanlar\u0131n, tan\u0131m\u0131 yap\u0131lanlar \u00fczerine b\u0131rakt\u0131\u011f\u0131 mu\u011flakl\u0131k, dilin d\u00fczen kurmadaki eksikli\u011fidir. Ba\u015fka bir deyi\u015fle dil ve ak\u0131l ba\u011flam\u0131nda yarat\u0131lmaya ba\u015flanan modern d\u00fcze\u00adnin kendi do\u011fas\u0131 i\u00e7inde d\u00fczensizli\u011fi do\u011furmas\u0131 olarak g\u00f6r\u00fclebilir.<\/p>\n<h4>Keskin Rahats\u0131zl\u0131k<\/h4>\n<p>Bauman&#8217;a g\u00f6re d\u00fczensizli\u011fi, m\u00fcphemli\u011fi g\u00f6steren en temel i\u015fareti, herhangi bir \u015feyin-olay, nesne- tek bir kategoriye s\u0131\u011fmamas\u0131ndan, yani kategorile\u015ftirmeyi y\u0131kmas\u0131ndan dolay\u0131 \u201cbelli bir durumu do\u011fru bi\u00e7imde okuyamad\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z ve alternatif eylemler aras\u0131nda se\u00ad\u00e7im yapmad\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131z zaman hissetti\u011fimiz keskin rahats\u0131zl\u0131kt\u0131r.\u201d<sup>49 <\/sup>Bu ba\u011flamda modernli\u011fin d\u00fcnyay\u0131 tan\u0131mlama ve onu verilen tan\u0131m i\u00e7inde tutma iste\u011fi m\u00fcphemli\u011fi do\u011furdu\u011fu kadar, onu daha da sorunsalla\u015ft\u0131r\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 da a\u015fik\u00e2rd\u0131r. Bunun yan\u0131nda modernli\u011fin, her do\u011furdu\u011fu m\u00fcphemlik durumuyla ba\u015f etmek i\u00e7in giri\u015fti\u011fi yeni\u00adden bir adland\u0131rma veya s\u0131n\u0131fland\u0131rma uygulamas\u0131 s\u00f6z konusudur. B\u00f6ylelikle modernlik ne kadar \u00e7ok tan\u0131mlama yaparsa ayn\u0131 oranda da belirsizli\u011fe neden olmu\u015ftur diyebiliriz.<\/p>\n<p>S\u00f6zgelimi \u2018normarik kavram\u0131 etraf\u0131nda de\u011ferlendirildi\u011finde modernite i\u00e7in &#8216;normal&#8217; in\u00adsan, rasyonel d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcnen, \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan, yasalara uyan ki\u015fi diye belirlendi\u00ad\u011finde, bu tan\u0131m\u0131n d\u0131\u015far\u0131da b\u0131rakt\u0131\u011f\u0131 pek \u00e7ok ki\u015fi anormal kavram\u0131 i\u00e7ine girer. Halbuki insan d\u00fcnyas\u0131 i\u00e7in olu\u015fturulacak tan\u0131mlamalar, do\u011fa-nesne d\u00fcnyas\u0131 kadar de\u011fi\u015fmez bir kesinli\u011fe i\u015faret etmez. Bu y\u00fczden bir tan\u0131m\u0131n eksik kalan yanlar\u0131 varsa ya da o tan\u0131m\u0131 yetersiz k\u0131lacak yeni geli\u015fmeler do\u011farsa tabiat\u0131yla belirsizlik ba\u015f g\u00f6sterir.<\/p>\n<p>Modernlik insanlar\u0131n, toplumlar\u0131n, k\u00fclt\u00fcrlerin yani ya\u015fam alan\u0131n\u0131n kendi i\u00e7inde ta\u015f\u0131d\u0131\u011f\u0131 anlamsal birliktelikleri\/i\u00e7 i\u00e7elikleri, birer kar\u015f\u0131tl\u0131k \u015feklinde konumland\u0131rarak kesin bir \u00e7izgiyle i\u00e7-d\u0131\u015f, s\u0131n\u0131r-s\u0131n\u0131r \u00f6tesi, yerli-yabanc\u0131, yararl\u0131-zararl\u0131, buras\u0131-oras\u0131, yak\u0131n-uzak ve benzeri gibi ayr\u0131labilece\u011fini ya da bu ayr\u0131mlar\u0131n yap\u0131lmas\u0131 gereklili\u011fini varsayar.<sup>51<\/sup> Bu noktada olu\u015fturulacak her kar\u015f\u0131tl\u0131k, Bauman\u2019\u0131n deyi\u015fiyle: dikotomik yap\u0131, \u201cm\u00fcphemlik \u00fcretir; her d\u00fczen aray\u0131\u015f\u0131nda zorunlu olarak boy g\u00f6steren dikotomik g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015f olmasayd\u0131, m\u00fcphemlik de olmazd\u0131.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3>Modern Biat<\/h3>\n<p>Bu ikilikler ba\u011flam\u0131nda d\u00fcnyay\u0131, ya\u015fa\u00adm\u0131 okuma giri\u015fimi, kendi i\u00e7inde tek bir do\u011frulu\u011fun varl\u0131\u011f\u0131na dair modern biati g\u00f6sterir ki bizatihi bu durum yanl\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u00c7\u00fcnk\u00fc ya\u015fam, tek bi\u00e7imli ya da tek nedenli okumalar\u0131 a\u015fan bir karma\u015faya ve be\u00adlirsizli\u011fe sahiptir. \u0130nsano\u011flu ya\u015fam\u0131 s\u00fcresince bir \u015fekilde belirsiz\u00adli\u011fe d\u00fc\u015fer ya da sonucunu kestiremedi\u011fi, dolay\u0131s\u0131yla neyi yapmas\u0131 konusunda karar veremedi\u011fi, bir anla kar\u015f\u0131la\u015f\u0131r. Bu y\u00fczden d\u00fczen iste\u011fi gibi m\u00fcphemlik de insan ya\u015fam\u0131nda olan bir \u015feydir. Birinin oldu\u011fu yerde mutlaka di\u011feri de vard\u0131r, ama burada kastetti\u011fimiz sorun kendili\u011finden olan bu birliktelik de\u011fildir. Nitekim toplumsal alana m\u00fcdahale iste\u011fi, bu alanlarda elde edilen ba\u015far\u0131lar\u0131n \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda \u015fekillenmektedir. Modern d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncenin erken \u00f6rneklerinden olan \u00fctopyalar (ki Bauman\u2019a g\u00f6re birer fanteziden, ta\u015fk\u0131n hayal g\u00fcc\u00fcn\u00fcn at\u0131klar\u0131ndan ibarettir), modernitenin proje\u00adsine d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015ferek insana, elde etti\u011fi teknik ve bilimsel geli\u015fmelerle birlikte, d\u00fcnyay\u0131 denetim alt\u0131na alabilece\u011fi ve b\u00f6ylece gelece\u011fi be\u00adlirleyebilece\u011fi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesini verir.<sup>54<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Her ne kadar modern d\u00f6nemle beraber insan\u0131n bu d\u00fcnyaya sek\u00fcler bir anlam verme ve form bi\u00e7me s\u00fcreci ba\u015flam\u0131\u015fsa da s\u00fcrecin zaman\u0131m\u0131za yakla\u015fan b\u00f6l\u00fcmlerinde, modernli\u011fin bu arzusu \u00e7\u0131kmaza girmi\u015ftir. 20. y\u00fczy\u0131l, modernli\u00ad\u011fin kaosu, belirsizli\u011fi bitirme \u00e7abalar\u0131n\u0131n olumsuz sonu\u00e7lar\u0131na tan\u0131kl\u0131k etmi\u015ftir. Modernlik, ak\u0131l-bilim mabedinden gelen kutsal emirler \u00e7er\u00e7evesinde insanlar\u0131 homojen k\u0131lmak ister. Modernlik uygulamalar\u0131, ya\u015famdaki \u00e7e\u015fitlili\u011fi, farkl\u0131l\u0131\u011f\u0131, kategori d\u0131\u015f\u0131 kalan ve tan\u0131ms\u0131z olan\u0131, kendisinden olmayan\u0131, yani k\u0131saca heterojenli\u011fi birer tehlike olarak alg\u0131lar ve onlar\u0131 d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr\u00fcp ayn\u0131la\u015ft\u0131rmaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131r, \u00f6zellikle modern kurumlar bunu sa\u011flamaya \u00e7al\u0131\u015fan, giri\u00ad\u015fimde bulunan sistemliliktedir. Bu nedenle modern d\u00f6nem ayn\u0131 zamanda \u201ce\u011fitmenin ve talimin, terbiyenin, \u2018uygarla\u015fman\u0131n, ye\u00adti\u015ftirmenin ve d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcrmenin \u00e7a\u011f\u0131\u201d olarak da tan\u0131mlan\u0131r.<\/p>\n<h3>D\u00fczen Kaos<\/h3>\n<p>Bu \u00e7a\u011f\u0131n kendisinin, d\u00fczen zorbal\u0131\u011f\u0131yla kaos \u00fcretti\u011fini s\u00f6ylemek yanl\u0131\u015f olmaz. Zira \u015fekle sokulmak istenen insan\u0131n ya\u015fam alan\u0131 olan toplumsal, k\u00fclt\u00fcrel alan\u0131 i\u00e7in \u00fcretilen \u015fablonlar\u0131n, yeni sorunlar \u00fcretmek d\u0131\u015f\u0131nda bir etkilerinin olmad\u0131\u011f\u0131 tecr\u00fcbeyle sabitlenmi\u015ftir. Bizatihi m\u00fcphem olan insan tercihleri ya da ya\u015fam\u0131, modernli\u011fin netle\u015ftirme giri\u015fimine ra\u011fmen flu g\u00f6r\u00fcnt\u00fcs\u00fcn\u00fc korur. Dolay\u0131s\u0131yla insan\u0131n ya\u015fama d\u00fcnyas\u0131nda kendisini g\u00f6steren ve tek tek her in\u00adsan i\u00e7in de\u011fi\u015febilecek olan m\u00fcphemlik veya kaos hali, ak\u0131l ve bilim \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda atlat\u0131labilecek bir durum de\u011fildir. Bu noktada Bauman\u2019a bakt\u0131\u011f\u0131m\u0131zda insan d\u00fcnyas\u0131ndaki d\u00fczenin kaosla ili\u015fkisi daha net g\u00f6r\u00fclebilir:<\/p>\n<h4>Kaos Yerine D\u00fczen Getirme<\/h4>\n<p>Kaos yerine d\u00fczen getirme, yak\u0131n \u00e7evremizdeki d\u00fcnya par\u00e7as\u0131n\u0131 kural tan\u0131r, kestirilebilir ve denetlenebilir k\u0131l\u00adma m\u00fccadelesi sonu\u00e7suz kalmaya mahk\u00fbmdur \u00e7\u00fcnk\u00fc bu m\u00fccadelenin kendisi kendi ba\u015far\u0131s\u0131na en \u00f6nemli engeli olu\u015fturur: Kaos, d\u00fczensiz (kural\u0131 \u00e7i\u011fneyen, kestirilemez ve denetlenemez) olgular\u0131n \u00e7o\u011fu \u00f6zellikle dar bir alana odaklanm\u0131\u015f, hedefli, g\u00f6rev y\u00f6nsemeli, tek sorun \u00e7\u00f6z\u00fcc\u00fc eylemlerden do\u011far. \u0130nsan d\u00fcnyas\u0131n\u0131n bir par\u00e7as\u0131n\u0131, insan etkinli\u011finin \u00f6zg\u00fcn bir alan\u0131m d\u00fczenli k\u0131lma y\u00f6n\u00fcnde at\u0131\u00adlan her yeni ad\u0131m, eski sorunlar\u0131 ortadan kald\u0131rsa bile, yeni sorunlar yarat\u0131r. Her yeni ad\u0131m yeni t\u00fcrden m\u00fcphemlikler do\u011furur ve b\u00f6ylelikle -benzer sonu\u00e7lar do\u011fu\u00adracak- daha ba\u015fka ad\u0131mlar\u0131n at\u0131lmas\u0131n\u0131 zorunlu k\u0131lar.<sup>56<\/sup><\/p>\n<p>Bauman\u2019a g\u00f6re modernlik, pratikte ikilikler \u00fczerinden insanla\u00adr\u0131, k\u00fclt\u00fcrleri ve bilgiyi k\u0131saca ya\u015famsal olan her \u015feyi tasnif ederek toplumsal alan\u0131 tan\u0131mlay\u0131p kontrol etmeye \u00e7al\u0131\u015f\u0131r. \u0130nsan ya\u015fam\u0131nda m\u00fcphemlik ve kaos hali her ne kadar modernlikten \u00f6nce de var olan bir durum olsa da modernlikle beraber m\u00fcphemlik-kaos bir disiplin, d\u00fczen kar\u015f\u0131t\u0131 bir sorun olarak alg\u0131lanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
